How To Get The Most Out of Your Wardrobe - Minimal Chic

August 31, 2015

When it comes to cultivating your wardrobe, you don't have to spend a lot to get a lot. We all know this but it's easier said than done. First, that statement doens't necessairly mean you have to buy cheap and that you can only shop at the cheapest stores. There's a balance between investing and buying on trend that everyone must find for themselves. I have a few suggestions that might help:

1. Double Duty - Invest in pieces that you can wear multiple ways with existing pieces in your wardrobe. What I did here was buy a grey cropped sleeveless turtleneck top from The Fifth and pair it with my favorite drop crotch pants and a little black dress I already had in my closet. Both the pants and the dress needed sprucing up for Fall and with this simple addition to my wardrobe I have multiple looks on trend for Fall 2015. I even used the same accessories from Ethique 212 (which will be featured on a new episode of A Harmless Project next week). This simple black bag comes with an attached gold chain so it can be worn as a shoulder bag or tucked away to be used as a clutch. Then, I just switched out my flats for mules for an evening look.

2. Shop Around - I recommend taking the time to shop around for pieces. If you really want a specific piece from a specific designer that's one thing but if you're looking for a, let's say, grey sweater, take a little time to research it to see all your options so you know you're getting exactly what you want within your budget.

These two looks below are my picks for the Fall transition. Simple, minimal, chic pieces that can be mixed and matched with just about anything to give you an on trend, affordable, wardrobe. Here are the details:

Grey Turtleneck - The Fifth

Black Dress - Nasty Gal

Mules - Sam Edelman

Black Bag and Bracelet - Ehique212
