New A Harmless Project Featuring Luca Chiara!
Recently, I was introduced to Luca Chiara and their "un-leather" accessories. They're a New York based company that makes versatile, vegan bags in various sizes, wallets, shoes, passport covers, phone sleeves, and more. Plus, they're PETA approved! They offer high quality, responsibly made, modern designs with some special Italian-inspired flair. You can tell from the information on the website and the attention to details on their products that they care about the needs of their consumers and the well being of the planet.
I have their Antonio Weekender in black and their Philamenia Clutch. Here are my thoughts:
-Antonio Weekender: The construction of this bag is genius and it will literally fit EVERYTHING you need and then some. The interior bag (made from 100% cotton canvas and water resistant vegan leather) is removable/interchangeable so you can swap it for a different colored bag, wash the bag, or just use the interior bag as it's own bag by itself! How awesome is that? There really much this bag can't do; it has plenty of interior room, large interior pockets, a padded laptop pocket, and a lovely lining. It has a removable shoulder strap, the zipper and hardware feel super sturdy and are quite pretty. The vegan leather looks great; the bottom un-leather part of the bag offers a nice stable base for the bag and is really rugged and sturdy so it maintains it's luxury feel no matter how much you use it. It's easy to remove /swap and wash the interior bag too which is nice. I use this bag as my gym bag as well as a travel bag for weekend getaways and it's nice to be able to wash it between gym and vacation uses. Plus, if you decided you want another color, you can just grab a new interior bag and it changes the aesthetic of the bag without dropping big money on an entirely new bag! I got their medium weekender and it's quite large, which is perfect for me. I can pack it to bursting and yet still seem to have room. It's not too heavy and I don't find it bulky even when full. Finally, it's incredibly reasonably priced especially for the high quality of the bag!
-Philamenia Clutch: This clutch is PERFECT for traveling. It's lined with steel for full RFID protection so all your cards have an extra layer of protection. It's a great size, it's not heavy or bulky but rather slim and lightweight. It's very well made and feels like it'll last forever. There's plenty of card storage inside as well as space for money, a small pen, a passport, and other wallet items. All their wallet seams are stitched instead of glued which sets them apart from many other companies and I find that I prefer stitching. I styled mine with an off-shoulder dress from Reformation, vegan faux leather tie necklace from Vanessa Mooney, and PU leather (vegan) shoes from Loéil.
