Mixing Fall/Winter Fabrics

December 9, 2016

Tis the season for heavier fabrics and I'm a fan of mixing textiles for a distinctly Fall/Winter look. Some of my favorite fabric trends this season are velvets and faux leather and building on that I put together this simple and chic look. I'm wearing a 100% cotton sweater from Slumlove Sweater Company, faux leather pants from BLANKNYC, and velvet and synthetic fur Racha slippers from Jessica Buurman. To keep it minimal and sleek all the pieces are black but the pop of light brown from the faux fur and the chic gold buckle on the Racha slippers give it a slightly dressy edge. I've worn this outfit as is with an oversized shoulder bag to run errands and also paired with a clutch and a satin trench coat for dressier occasions. This outfit (and each individual piece) is super versatile and reasonably priced so they'll keep you on trend and on budget this holiday season!
