Trend To Try: Sweater Dresses & Sneakers
A great quality sweater dress can be a really vital wardrobe piece. Sweater dresses can be worn casual or dressy and they always look relaxed and elegant. I opted for a particular style I love which has a thigh high slit on one side, is mid-calf length, sleeveless, turtleneck, and light grey ribbed fabric for curve hugging goodness. One of the things I look for most in a longer sweater dress like this one is some kind of a slit so I can walk in it. I've had lovely calf length, tight sweater dresses in the past that look fabulous on but I couldn't walk in them to save my life. Plus, a well placed slit can give a sweater dress a little drama and I LOVE that.
The sleeveless style isn't the best if you're looking for a dress to keep you warm in the winter but, as I've done here, I've paired mine with a trench coat for an added layer of style and warmth. You could easily throw this dress on over a long sleeve top and leggings to add an under layer for those cold winter outings as well.
Now, for me nice, elegant sneakers are my go-to shoe for casual, minimal outfits. I like the juxtaposition between flirty feminine and rugged casual. You could swap the sneakers for boots (any height you like) or heels (sandals or closed toe) to change it up and create the look you want.
