A Harmless Project Featuring Devinto
From incredibly chic Montreal, Devinto brings us an eco collection that's ethical and vegan-friendly. I can't tell you how excited I am to see a collection that's both completely gorgeous and sustainable! Devinto believes that you don't have to sacrifice ethics for style and I couldn't agree more. All their pieces have a distinct high-end sophistication that feels more Gucci than granola.
I love that all their pieces are handcrafted and made to order to minimize waste and overproduction. I wasn't really aware of how much of a problem those two issues can be; I didn't realize we're stuffing landfill after landfill with garments each year and how much of that is waste and overproduction. Operations like Devinto take care to ensure quality of each piece but also that the environment was taken into consideration. I love how much love goes into these designs and you can tell from the second you hold one.
One of the most incredible things about Devinto is that all the quality, handcrafted, made to order pieces are incredibly affordable. With fast and cheap fashion everywhere these days, it's wonderful to see eco brands making ethical pieces attainable for the average consumer. Not to say you shouldn't spend more on investment pieces (especially if they're ethically sound) but that it's hard to invest in pieces all the time so to have a label creating gorgeous designs that consumers can reasonable purchase every season is wonderful!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE bamboo. It's an incredible material and makes such soft and dreamy feeling fabric. It's super sustainable so it's good for the environment too! The bamboo used in Devinto's designs feels think but not heavy, durable but incredibly soft, and decadent. It moves beautifully partly due to the bamboo itself but due more to the way Devinto marries feminine and defiant into each of their bold designs. As I said in the video, I love the minimal vibes of this collection. The mix and match wardrobe staples and fun striking pieces appeal to all sorts of styles.
For this video, I styled their Norma A Line Skirt and Tina Hooded Crop Top black mules from Sam Edelman and wallet clutch from Jeane & Jax. I also wore the top under a jean jacket from Aritzia; it's great for layering. The skirt is a wardrobe staple; it's the perfect length to be work appropriate but it feels very sexy so it'll be great for date night too.
Then, I styled their Dana Bias Cut Tube Neck Dress with black patent oxfords from Sam Edelman and a red clutch from MeDusa for some vibrance and drama. I like to wear this dress with thigh high socks and boots as well for a more Fall friendly look. Everything in this video is vegan-friendly!
